Key Responsibilities :
- Manage the full accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with SARS (South African Revenue Service) requirements including VAT, PAYE, Income Tax, and other statutory returns.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Maintain asset registers and manage depreciation schedules.
- Process payroll or liaise with payroll service providers ensuring compliance with labour laws.
- Implement and maintain financial controls and accounting procedures.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
- Liaise with external service providers, including banks, auditors, and tax consultants.
- Stay current with South African financial regulations and best practices.
- Capable of handling the finance functions independently with minimum supervision.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., SAIPA, SAICA, CIMA) is preferable.
- Minimum 4-6 years of accounting experience, preferably within South Africa.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Office 365.
