Job summary

Pillango Placements has partnered with a Woodmead-based technology business to recruit an experienced Accountant. The role focuses on financial operations, VAT and tax compliance, and timely month-end processes.

You will manage accounts payable/receivable, reconcile accounts, prepare management accounts and liaise with SARS, auditors and banks. A strong proficiency in Sage and advanced Excel is essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ accounting experience in a similar role.
• Hands-on Sage Accounting experience.
• Proficient SARS eFiling and tax submissions.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Strong knowledge of South African accounting principles and regulations.
• Advanced VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL and corporate income tax knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Process daily transactions and maintain accurate records in Sage.
• Manage accounts payable, receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and complete month-end and year-end procedures.
• Submit VAT, PAYE, UIF and SDL returns.
• Support provisional and corporate income tax compliance.

• Improve accounting processes and support broader finance requirements.

Education

Salary

The proposed salary range is R30k - R40k per month. If you can demonstrate exceptional value, an offer of up to R50k per month can be negotiated. Any offer will be based on qualifications, experience and skills.
