Job summary

VEA Group is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Centurion finance team. You will support financial operations across multiple group companies, ensuring accuracy, compliance and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has a BCom, completed articles, at least 3 years in a similar role, and strong Excel skills. Experience with CaseWare and Sage Intacct is advantageous. You will contribute to robust financial controls and reporting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain the General Ledger with monthly reconciliations.
• Manage month-end and year-end closings and assist audits.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
• Manage cashbooks and payments.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations.
• Complete monthly VAT and PAYE reconciliations.
• Compile monthly financial reports for management.
• Develop and improve accounting systems and processes.
• Documentation of accounting policies and internal controls.
• Provide support to the Finance team as required.

VEA Group is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance team at our Centurion office.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the financial operations of various companies within the Group. This position is suited to an accounting professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, enjoys taking ownership of their responsibilities and has a strong focus on accuracy, compliance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the General Ledger, including monthly reconciliations to sub-ledgers.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes and assist with annual audits.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
• Manage cashbooks and payment processes.
• Perform reconciliations of intercompany loans and transactions.
• Complete monthly VAT and PAYE reconciliations.
• Compile monthly financial reports for various companies for presentation to management.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting systems.
• Develop, improve and document accounting processes and policies to strengthen internal controls.
• Perform additional accounting duties and provide support to the Finance team as required.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum BCom Degree or other relevant accounting qualification.
• Completed articles.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar accounting role.
• Experience with CaseWare will be advantageous.
• Experience with Sage Intacct will be advantageous.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
