Our client within the financial sector requires an accountant.

Your Accounting Degree (BCom or BCompt (Acc)), as well as completed articles with a minimum of 4 years' experience in an accounting function, will enable you to perform the following duties:

  1. Financial Reporting: Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
  2. Bookkeeping: Record financial transactions, post debits and credits, manage accounts payable and receivable, and reconcile bank statements.
  3. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and monitor budgets, assist with financial planning, and provide projections based on historical data and future trends.
  4. Auditing: Conduct internal audits to assess financial controls, risk management procedures, and compliance with policies. Coordinate with external auditors during annual reviews.
  5. Tax Preparation and Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns, ensure compliance with tax legislation, and assist in the development of strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
  6. Cost Analysis: Analyze and report on financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support management in strategic decision-making.
  7. Payroll Administration: Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and benefits.
  8. Accounts Reconciliation: Reconcile ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly and accurately.
  9. Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable laws and regulations, ensuring all financial practices adhere to the required standards.
  10. Financial Advice: Serve as a consultant to management by offering insights and recommendations to improve overall financial efficiency and profitability.
  11. Document Management: Organize and maintain comprehensive financial records and documentation for internal use and regulatory review.
  12. Liaison and Communication: Collaborate with colleagues across departments, external auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders.
