A fast-growing company in finance is seeking a full-time Accountant in Cape Town. The successful candidate will manage travel expenses, payment processing, and support annual budgets. The ideal candidate has a relevant degree and 2+ years of administrative finance experience. Location: Cape Town, South Africa (on-site)

Watchmaker is inviting applications for the full-time position of Accountantbased In Cape Town, South Africa, predominantly working with US group entity. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment and contribute directly to our company culture and success. Responsibilities

  • Travel & Expense (T&E) Management: Full oversight of travel and employee expense claims.
  • Corporate Credit Card Oversight: Manage and reconcile company credit card expense claims.
  • Payment Processing: Support daily, weekly, and month-end payment activities, including expense reimbursements and schedule updates.
  • Accounts payable: Assist the Senior Accountant with accounts payable functions, including managing and processing vendor invoices, payment schedules, and reconciliations.
  • Budgeting & Audits: Supporting the annual budget preparation and business plans, along with assisting the Finance Manager in the annual audit process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Focus on enhancing internal processes, particularly around month-end close and overall financial operations.
  • Finance Projects: Supporting various financial projects that may arise.

Skills and Requirements

The candidate should have at a minimum, a relevant 3-year degree (completed or in progress) and 2+ years of experience in administrative roles. Experience in a US company environment would be an advantage.

  • Organizational & Planning Skills: The ability to manage complex tasks accurately, with a meticulous focus on detail. You should be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, particularly under pressure and with set deadlines.
  • Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and maintain a high standard of work, while also being able to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Problem-Solving: Creative, disciplined, and proactive approach to addressing challenges in finance and operations processes.
  • Communication & Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with various teams and stakeholders, plus good communication and personal task management skills. Proven ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with diverse teams.
