Job summary

A leading company in Cape Town is seeking an Accountant responsible for preparing management accounts, forecasting, and overseeing the general ledger. The ideal candidate will hold a Bcom/BAcc in Finance/Accounting and have at least 3 years of related experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Navision and PowerBI is preferred, as well as strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience within Tech or Hosting environment an advantage.
  • Strong ability to influence and assertiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly and quarterly management Accounts.
  • Take full responsibility for the general ledger through to the trial balance.
  • Manage the audit process with the external auditing firm.

Job description

  • Preparing monthly and quarterly management Accounts.
  • Analysis and interpretation of Actual vs Budget and Actual vs Prior years.
  • Assisting Financial Manager in preparation of Budgets and Forecasts.
  • Take full responsibility for the general ledger through to the trial balance.
  • Analysis of variances and working with Operational Management to spot trends and improve company performance.
  • Preparation of weekly cash forecasts.
  • Preparation of Departmental budget vs actual reports.
  • Liaise with Department Managers to prepare meaningful and value added variance analysis.
  • Manage the bank covenants.
  • Analysis of customer profitability.
  • Sales by product and user analysis.
  • Compile ad-hoc reports as requested.
  • Monthly reconciliations of key areas.
  • Manage the audit process with the external auditing firm.
