Job description

The merger of two businesses has resulted in a consumer goods manufacturing business that now seeks a skilled manufacturing Financial Manager to be right hand to the GM as they steer the business through change and challenge, toward growth and prosperity. The successful incumbent’s first projects will entail bringing the financial management function in-house, and driving the implementation ofa new ERP system. Responsibilities :

  • Preparation of the monthly management accounting pack, with analysis and commentary
  • Analyse financial results, including corrective actions to address adverse performance
  • Prepare company Annual Financial Statements
  • Ownership of the ERP system including driving implementation of system
  • Responsible for completing and submission of tax, VAT and statutory returns
  • Effective and efficient management of the Debtors and Creditors function
  • Manage the preparation of the company’s budget
  • Report to management on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances
  • Assist management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction
  • Responsible for banking relationships, treasury function and cashflow management
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out
  • Preparation of audit file and schedule
  • Oversight of cost control and inventory management
  • Manage internal controls and risk portfolio

Requirements :

  • BComm in accounting / Honours / Part CIMA / SAIPA
  • 10+ years’ experience in commerce, with at least 5 at management level
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing sector is essential
  • Willingness and ability to be hands on in the financial accounting function essential in this growing structure
  • Ability to connect with and relate to people at all levels in a business with a diverse culture
