Faithful to Nature is looking for an entrepreneurial, driven Accountant to assist the Head of Finance with managing the accounting tasks, including all bookkeeping responsibilities, and ensuring the smooth running of the organisation's financial operations.

This role is ideal for a strong accountant eager to contribute and learn within a fast-growing company on the cutting edge of the new economy, with modern and rapidly evolving systems.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Accounting and financial administration for the group's retail business.
  2. Support for the Head of Finance on financial accounting, reconciliations, and financial administration of the main online retail business as well as retail stores.
  3. Month-end processing and journal entries.
  4. Cash management assistance, including preparation of bank reconciliations and bank allocations.
  5. Payments administration, including preparation of daily/weekly payments for release by FM.
  6. Checking monthly creditor reconciliations and loading of monthly creditor payments on bank.
  7. SARS administration including VAT, PAYE, and UIF.
  8. Payroll checking and reconciliations in collaboration with HR, ensuring accurate monthly submissions and compliance.
  9. Record retention.
  10. Assisting with external audit facilitation.
  11. Innovating and improving accounting processes using modern accounting tools and systems in a data-rich organisation.
  12. Performing any other ad-hoc duties as required.
Requirements
  • Finance degree or diploma.
  • 3+ years of experience in the Accounting and Finance function, performing activities such as reconciliations, journal entries, data uploads, and matching.
  • Excellent computer skills and a natural affinity for new digital tools and systems.
  • Experience managing people.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial processes, daily finance tasks, reconciliations, and accounting entries.
  • Proficiency with SARS filings and basic tax administration, including VAT, Income Tax.
  • Payroll administration experience.
  • Good understanding of off-the-shelf accounting packages.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Advantageous Skills
  • Experience within retail or wholesale sectors.
  • Experience with modern cloud-based accounting or ERP systems such as Sage, Syspro, or Acumatica.

Salary Range: R 30,000.00 - 40,000.00 (South African Rand)
