Job Description

  • We are seeking an Account Manager to join the FBB MEA team, focusing on developing the Southern Africa Baking and Food business based in South Africa.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop our Food and Beverage business in Baking by prospecting, acquiring new customers, and nurturing existing accounts in line with Novonesis Strategy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key strategic accounts, ensuring high standards in commercial, supply chain, and technical interactions.
  • Identify sales opportunities from industry development and propose financially effective solutions.
  • Contribute to Industry Group Management and Global Marketing by providing insights on account trends, competition, and industry dynamics.
  • Follow up post-sales with customer service and demand planning.
  • Support sales operations on a daily basis.
  • Gather and record customer data accurately in Salesforce and SAP.
  • Utilize customer insights to drive a sales approach focused on customer needs.

Basic Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree (MSc or MBA) in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, or a technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, preferably in a multinational Food Ingredients company.
  • Experience in baking is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of account management and international sales is a plus.
  • Strong commercial focus, growth mindset, and passion for technical product sales and promotion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English is required.
  • Team-oriented, proactive, organized, and capable of working with a global team.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Africa, with a minimum of 50% travel.
  • Ability to engage in persuasive and inspirational dialogues with customers.
  • Proficiency in IT; SAP knowledge is advantageous.
