Job description

Job Summary

The Account Manager is responsible for driving partnership and business growth with Ingersoll Rand ITS customer accounts within their designated geography. The role involves managing ongoing relationships to meet annual sales targets, developing trust and strong partnerships to ensure sustainable long-term growth, and executing the ITS strategy from enquiry generation to resolution of customer queries.

Success will be measured by sales (completes & services) revenues, bookings, profitability, share of entitlement (SOE), linkage connectivity rates, and proactive customer satisfaction activities. The goal is to improve customer satisfaction in line with regional and SBU targets.

Responsibilities
  • Maximize sales of the general line Air products IR portfolio to current and new customers through relentless prospecting activities focused on the assigned market.
  • Generate leads through various channels such as scouting web search leads, campaigning, and leveraging service engineers.
  • Promote IR’s core values in the marketplace.
  • Formulate and submit projections based on market conditions and feedback.
  • Meet with customers to build long-lasting relationships and identify potential business opportunities.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience in industrial business development, channel sales, or product support within a multinational organization.
  • Strong business acumen and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in using computers and software such as MS Office and Windows.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Grade 12 education.
  • National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Sales or related field.
Travel & Work Arrangements

The work schedule typically involves 20% office work and 80% client visits within the assigned region on a regular basis.

Key Skills Needed
  • Technical knowledge of compressed air equipment for the commercial and industrial markets, with experience in dealing with clients in the industrial manufacturing sector being advantageous.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles, including needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Understanding of sales tools for pipeline and account management, with the ability to identify and secure new sales opportunities.
  • Market overview knowledge, including trends, competitors, and new technologies in the compressed air and manufacturing sectors.
