Overview

We are looking for a motivated Account Manager to join our outstanding team in South Africa. The role involves nurturing relationships to grow revenue.


Responsibilities


  • Lead commercial accounts and strategic site-level locations representing LGC Standards portfolio across various end-markets for account relationship development.

  • Identify and close new opportunities whether generated through personal prospecting or from marketing qualified leads.

  • Collaborate with other LGC team members to provide detailed customer service.

  • Work alongside strategic account managers to plan and conduct customer reviews at relevant strategic sites.

  • Apply LGCs sales tools to manage prospects existing accounts new opportunities the active pipeline and relevant sales forecasts promptly and accurately.

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of key LGC products and their applications.

  • Consistently meet and exceed assigned sales targets for LGC Standards.

  • Engage with customers via email phone and in-person visits to qualify leads convert prospects follow up on quotations and update CRM systems.

  • Increase awareness of the LGC Standards brand by coordinating and attending exhibitions seminars and other events and serving as a company representative.

  • Lead Channel partner relationships including agreements meetings pricing structures and negotiations.

  • Coordinate equipment-related customer vendor documents contracts service level agreements (SLAs) service contracts crucial spare parts requirements and stock holding requirements.

  • Serve as a backup for the Equipment Technical Specialist and support pricing activities in the local office for Channel Partner.

Qualifications


  • B.S. in chemistry physics biochemistry biology or equivalent experience.

  • At least 5 years experience in selling technical products used in research laboratories. Prior successful key account management experience dealing with central procurement is preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as RFQs contracts operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Experience with customer relationship management platforms such as Salesforce and Desk. Expertise in Microsoft Office products is a plus.

  • Outstanding commercial awareness and planning abilities.

  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.

  • Proficiency in English. Proficiency in other languages is a significant advantage.

  • Willingness to travel within EMEA as required.


Additional Information


  • Previous Analytical Instrumentation Sales an advantage

  • Experience in an analytical laboratory environment exposed to sample preparation fusion and XRF.

  • Own transport and a valid drivers license are essential.
