Role Purpose/Business Unit:
To manage strategic key accounts, maintain long-term & healthy relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with the primary objective to drive profitable and long-term revenue growth, customer experience & satisfaction, and increased market share on the respective portfolio. This is achieved through effective service delivery, protection/renewal of existing business, and identifying new sales opportunities across different product and solution offerings.
Your responsibilities will include:
Sales & Stakeholder Management
- Develop and implement account strategies to ensure all financial targets are met, including revenue, connections for voice and data, market share, and net margin contribution. Responsible for the P&L.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers up to C Level, leveraging these relationships to create value, opportunities, and win new business.
- Understand key customer needs and requirements thoroughly.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying potential markets for new and existing products and services within targeted accounts.
- Retain and grow business by identifying major new sales opportunities.
- Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
- Influence Vodacom SA/Group account sponsors and decision-makers to secure resources and ensure delivery within milestones and timeframes.
- Ensure effective service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with all functions within Vodacom to drive the Premier client network agenda and ensure alignment.
- Prepare and share an Account Plan with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain a complex sales roadmap for each relevant opportunity.
- Own escalated customer complaints from a service perspective.
- Proactively resolve sales and pricing claims on trading accounts.
- Support finance in recovering overdue and non-payment by clients.
- Ensure timely delivery of the correct products and services aligned with customer needs and objectives.
- Act as the communication link between key customers and internal teams.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints to maintain trust.
- Generate new sales that foster long-lasting relationships.
- Communicate progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to stakeholders.
Reporting
- Assess customer and market trends to provide accurate revenue forecasts.
- Prepare monthly/weekly run rate and demand management reports.
- Perform sales analysis by product.
- Contribute to annual sales strategy and budget planning.
- Prepare regular progress and forecast reports using key account metrics.
- Forecast and track key account metrics.
- Report on account status, identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to maximize sales (Strategic Account Plan / Joint Account Planning).
- Regularly ensure revenue assurance across all subsidiaries.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- A degree or equivalent qualification.
- A postgraduate degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Commerce, or related field is advantageous.
- At least 7 years of sales and service experience in telecommunications or technology-related environments (ICT), with demonstrated experience in:
- Portfolio management.
- Improving NPS results and reducing administrative expenses.
- Building relationships.
Technical Competencies
- Experience in solution selling within enterprise customers.
- Deep understanding of the customer’s business, market, industry, and key decision-makers.
- Ability to translate customer objectives into relevant Vodacom Business propositions.
- Proven track record in managing multi-industry and multi-tower sales with profitable revenue growth.
- Ability to influence at C-level.
