Purpose Statement
  • To provide a proactive business banking sales and service management function that will retain and grow a portfolio of business clients by identifying and implementing value-adding and specialized business banking financial product solutions from a range of standard and/or customized offerings.
Experience

Minimum:

  • Banking experience of at least 5 years, with 3 years in the Business Banking environment.
  • Experience managing a complex portfolio of business customers with a service and financial analysis focus.
  • Responsibility for client relationship management of high-value clients with varied and complex needs.
  • Significant experience in preparing and motivating credit applications.
  • Cost control and sales management.
Qualifications (Minimum)
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management or Finance.
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or Finance.
Knowledge

Minimum:

  • Principles of business economics and the current economic environment.
  • Advanced customer relationship management (CRM) principles and techniques, especially projecting credibility, gravitas, and presence in a business context.
  • Industry sectors and risk profiles, including external factors affecting industries/markets.
  • Local market sales principles to manage and grow the portfolio.
  • General banking practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of competitor products, channels, and marketing tactics.
  • Credit principles, including applications and securities.
  • Understanding of legal entities in the commercial market and relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge of FAIS and FICA regulations.
  • Ability to analyze CRM insights to influence client management strategies.
  • Understanding of Business Banking operations, risks, and financial requirements.

Ideal:

  • Features, benefits, and value propositions of company products/services.
  • Knowledge of multi-level products and pricing structures.
  • Understanding of current taxation laws applicable to customers.
  • Knowledge of administration processes for Business Banking transactions.
  • Financial modeling, activity-based costing, and trend analysis.
