POST TITLE: Academic Success Coach

PEROMNES POST LEVEL: 8

Responsibilities

  • Academic advising of undergraduate students (including but not limited to: participating in the orientation of new students, advising on curriculum changes/ module changes/ drops/ additions and withdrawal
  • Support undergraduate students at risk of not succeeding
  • Direct/Refer students with problems, such as financial and psychological, to the relevant support services
  • Track students’ performance and direct them to the academic assistance available
  • Manage data on student interactions
  • Present workshops to address student needs
  • Academic advising (including but not limited to) participating in the orientation of new students, advising on curriculum changes/module changes/drops/adds and withdrawal
  • Managing and maintaining data on student interactions;
  • Supporting students or young people who face psychosocial and/or academic challenges;
  • Maintaining an advisory file on each advisee; and
  • Participating in projects from time to time as delegated by management.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Hons degree in Educational Psychology, Psychology or Social Work, or a related field ;
  • Three years’ experience working with university students and/or young people.
  • Three years’ experience working in higher education as a tutor, mentor, advisor, or similar, at a tertiary institution

The all-inclusive remuneration package for this contract position will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.
