Qualifications

  • A Hons degree in Educational Psychology, Psychology or Social Work.
  • Three years experience working with university students or young people.
  • Three years experience in higher education as a tutor, mentor, advisor, or similar.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Academic advising of undergraduate students (including but not limited to : participating in the orientation of new students, advising on curriculum changes / module changes / drops / additions and withdrawal
  • Support undergraduate students at risk of not succeeding
  • Direct / Refer studentswith problems, such as financial and psychological, to the relevantsupport services
  • Track students’ performance and direct them to the academic assistance available
  • Manage data on student interactions
  • Present workshops to address student needs
  • Academic advising (including but not limited to) participating in the orientation of new students, advising on curriculum changes / module changes / drops / adds and withdrawal
  • Managing and maintaining data on student interactions;
  • Supporting students or young people who face psychosocial and / or academic challenges;
  • Maintaining an advisory file on each advisee; and
  • Participating in projects from time to time as delegated by management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

  • A Hons degree in EducationalPsychology, Psychology or Social Work, or a related field;
  • Three years’ experience working with university students and / or young people.
  • Three years’ experience working in higher educationas a tutor, mentor, advisor, or similar, at a tertiary institution
