Academic Administrator

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Marine team at Marsh. This role will be based in Durban Umhlanga. It is a hybrid role requiring at least three days per week in the office.

As a Policy Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring that the administration process for new business, renewals, and midterm amendments is handled professionally, accurately, and promptly to uphold our high service standards for clients.

You will report to the Insurance Operations Supervisor.

Responsibilities include:

1. Business Development: Support proposal and tendering processes for client executives.
2. Policy Administration Management: Manage policy administration processes to meet deadlines and maintain service levels; prepare policy documentation for submission to insurers; handle general administrative tasks including monthly reports.
3. Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to statutory and company regulations to protect clients and business interests; ensure all disclosure and business documents comply with FSCA requirements.

Requirements:

1. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in short-term insurance, preferably in Marine or Goods In Transit.
2. Knowledge of the FAIS Act and relevant legislation governing the short-term insurance industry.
3. Essential qualifications: Matric and FAIS regulatory exams (RE1).

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

• A recognized INSETA qualification in short-term insurance is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret broking information effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy in tasks.
