Engineering Manager

The Engineering Manager is responsible for developing and implementing company engineering policies and standards, providing specialized engineering expertise.

The incumbent will ensure the execution of a standardized asset lifecycle management approach and maintenance management system across the organization. They will drive standardization and coordinate spare parts management and maintenance planning.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Develop strategies to improve the quality of engineering services, performance, and operational efficiency within the unit.
2. Drive optimal asset care and continuous improvement through establishing deployable maintenance systems for plant and services.
3. Approve engineering designs and program or project specifications to ensure compliance with engineering principles, standards, statutes, codes, and regulations.
4. Define policies and procedures aligned with engineering standards; perform inspections and audits to ensure proper procedures are followed.
5. Write clear, organized reports addressing complex engineering concepts, standards, or regulations.
6. Draft and develop standards, rules, and legislation related to engineering practices.
7. Provide expert consultation on engineering standards for broad scope projects or programs.
8. Participate in developing long-term strategic goals for engineering and project management.
9. Drive standardization and coordination of spare parts management and maintenance planning.
10. Develop and review KPI frameworks with manufacturing leadership, monitor performance, and provide reports for management review.
11. Collaborate with the Capex project management team to develop technical specifications for new plant and machinery purchases.

Performance Metrics

• Machine uptime percentage (breakdown hours per day)
• Maintenance cost per standard unit of production
• Maintenance consumable costs
• Maintenance cost savings (% achieved versus target)

Desired Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in FMCG, with expertise in maintenance and project management.
• GRM2 certification.
