To build and grow the Automation & Communication service portfolio effectively, covering Hitachi Energy Grid Automation installed systems & solutions throughout Southern Africa. Supporting customers in finding and offering the right solutions to meet expectations and ensure sustainable, reliable, and high-quality offerings.
How you'll make an impact
- You will collaborate with the Service Sales Manager to implement service sales strategies, promote various upgrade, retrofit, and value-added solutions benefiting both the customer and Hitachi Energy. Understand channel strategies, establish related pricing, prepare sales plans, review them, and propose recovery plans when needed. Regularly update the installed base in the Service database with site changes.
- You will utilize the Service database to understand existing installed bases (IB), identify, and develop sales opportunities for Service products and solutions to penetrate existing and new IBs, focusing on the entire Service portfolio to secure profits for assigned Business Units / Product Groups.
- You will generate Service sales leads and develop new market opportunities by analyzing market trends, exploring potential new service portfolios, and leveraging other colleagues' portfolios through a one Hitachi approach.
- You will establish long-term customer relationships by understanding their requirements and applicable regulations, demonstrating in-depth technical knowledge of service products/solutions to promote Lifecycle Management (LCM), register customer feedback, and ensure satisfaction throughout the sales process.
- You will sell the entire service AC product portfolio to expand Hitachi Energy's footprint in designated areas, plan and monitor sales proposals, tenders, and follow-up activities. Support tendering teams in preparing Service offerings based on customer needs, coordinate with the local Service Sales Manager, communicate contract details aligned with Hitachi Energy's strategy, and manage administrative sales processes.
- You will act as a marketer and salesperson during marketing activities (trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences, customer meetings), translating customer needs into relevant Hitachi Energy Service offerings and solutions.
- You will contribute to risk assessments related to pricing and quality, maintain accurate customer database records, and ensure technical reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness of solutions to meet customer needs while complying with health and safety directives.

Your background
- A bachelor's degree or diploma in electrical engineering is preferred.
- More than 5-8 years of experience in a technical sales role, with knowledge of Grid Automation (Automation and Communication) portfolios.
- Previous fieldwork experience in Grid Automation systems is an advantage.
