Job description

Our client, a leading manufacturer with a long-standing presence in Durban, supplies both the South African and international markets. They are seeking a qualified financial professional to manage their financial operations, reporting directly to the CFO.

Position Details:

Minimum Job Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field is essential.
  2. CA(SA) qualification or equivalent is preferred.
  3. At least 5 to 7 years of experience in financial management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  4. Advanced Excel skills.
  5. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
Main Responsibilities:
  1. Manage all financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective resource management.
  2. Oversee functions including financial accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable and receivable, and financial analysis.
  3. Provide strategic financial guidance aligned with company goals.
  4. Handle full financial management responsibilities, including general ledger, AP, AR, and payroll.
  5. Prepare and review financial statements.
  6. Manage general ledger, reconciliations, and ensure compliance with auditing standards and BEE requirements.
  7. Conduct financial analysis and reporting, ensuring adherence to IFRS / GAAP standards.
  8. Oversee cost accounting, tax compliance, budgeting, and forecasting for the group.
  9. Lead finance projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  10. Manage fixed assets, Capex, expenses, and inventory.
  11. Maintain meticulous financial records with high accuracy.
  12. Uphold the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and ethical behaviour.
  13. Provide actionable insights through financial data analysis.
  14. Meet deadlines reliably and consistently.
  15. Adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility.
  16. Collaborate effectively across teams, showing initiative and leadership.
