RESEARCH, INNOVATION AND ENGAGEMENT │ Centre for Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing (CRPM)Bloemfontein Campus

Main purpose of the jobTo oversee and enhance the quality standards of CRPM’s AM processes. This role is instrumental in ensuring that products produced meet or exceed customer specifications and regulatory requirements. The AM Quality Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality controls for new and existing products, perform thorough root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement within the AM process.Main tasks

  • Quality Management System (QMS) Compliance
  • Product Quality Assurance and Process Validation
  • Risk Management and Non-Conformance Management
  • Supplier Quality Management
  • Training and Development
  • Continual Improvement
  • Regulatory Compliance

Nature of appointment: Three (3) year fixed-term supportMinimum salary scale (Total Cost to Company): R 641 532 per annum

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Quality Engineering on NQF level 7.
  • 3 years of experience in quality engineering within manufacturing, with at least 1 year specifically in additive manufacturing.
  • Ability to initiate and successfully complete internal and external ISO audits based on set objectives - a portfolio of evidence submitted with the application.
  • Experience in quality management systems, statistical process control, root cause analysis and continual improvements – a portfolio of evidence should be submitted with the application

Desired Qualification, Knowledge And/Or Experience

  • Honours degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Quality Engineering on NQF level 8.
  • 4+ years of experience in Additive Manufacturing or Medical device quality management.
  • Ability to initiate and successfully complete internal and external ISO 13485 audits based on set objectives – portfolio of evidence should be submitted with application.
  • Experience in quality management systems, statistical process control, root cause analysis and continual improvements – portfolio of evidence should be submitted with application.
