HPC Services | Ansible Automation Architect
ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency in Ansible core concepts, including playbooks, roles, modules, and inventory management
Experience with Ansible Tower or AWX for managing and scaling Ansible automation
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Terraform, Python, Bash, or PowerShell
Understanding of IaC principles and tools, including Terraform or CloudFormation, to manage infrastructure through code
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies (VMware, OpenStack) to automate cloud resource provisioning and management
Strong interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and security, to gather requirements and implement solutions
Ability to create comprehensive documentation for automation processes and provide training to team members on Ansible best practices
Strong analytical skills to identify automation opportunities and troubleshoot complex issues in automation workflows
Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter

WHICH QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE DO WE NEED FOR THE ROLE?
Qualification in IT Business Analysis (Diploma / Degree / Certification) or relevant
8+ years experience in an architectural role
On premise and virtualisation technology expertise in Ansible Automation
Red Hat Certification
Experience in testing (especially automated testing)
WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES?
Design and implement scalable and robust automation architectures using Ansible, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices
Develop and execute automation strategies that enhance operational efficiency, reduce manual tasks, and improve service delivery across IT environments
Provide technical leadership and guidance to teams on Ansible best practices, architecture, and implementation strategies
Integrate Ansible with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) pipelines to automate application deployment, testing, and infrastructure provisioning
Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to gather requirements, understand workflows, and ensure automation solutions meet business needs
Develop custom Ansible modules and plugins to extend the functionality of Ansible and meet specific automation requirements
Monitor and optimize the performance of Ansible automation processes, identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for automation processes, architectures, and best practices
Share knowledge through training sessions and workshops
Ensure that automation solutions adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements, implementing necessary controls and audits
Provide advanced troubleshooting support for automation issues, working to resolve problems quickly and efficiently
Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in automation and DevOps, evaluating their potential impact on the organization and recommending new tools or practices
Engage with stakeholders to communicate the value of automation initiatives, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with business objectives
Mentor junior architects and team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the automation team
Apply best practices for effective communication and problem-solving
