Job summary

Volkswagen Group Africa is seeking Production Operators for the Group Parts Warehouse in Centurion. You will pick warehouse items accurately according to part numbers and specs, stage for dispatch, and operate material handling equipment safely.

Ideal candidates have 1 year in a distribution warehouse, a valid MHE license, and ability to work overtime. English communication and teamwork are essential to meet daily BPMO targets and uphold 5S/Lopa standards.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 is required.
• At least 1 year experience in a distribution warehouse.
• Must have at least one valid MHE license.
• English communication proficiency required.
• Team player and able to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick warehouse items from shelves by part number, size, colour, and quantity.
• Stage items for dispatch and delivery and ensure accurate packing.
• Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently following procedures.
• Ensure cycle time targets and BPMO area targets are met daily.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping and observe LOPA rules at all times.
• Report any damaged scanners or tools hindering productivity.
• Attend required training and obtain relevant credits.
• Contribute to warehouse improvement initiatives and idea management.
• Complete tasks accurately according to defined processes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking Production Operators to join our Group Parts Warehouse team. The successful candidates will be responsible for accurately picking warehouse items from shelves according to part number, size, colour, quantity, and quality specifications. They will ensure order accuracy, correctly stage items for dispatch and delivery, operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently, and comply with all warehouse safety procedures and regulations. This position is based in Group Parts - NSO (Centurion)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Determining relevant parts and accessories are received, picked, always packed and handed over.
• Ensuring that the BPMO (area specific targets are met) daily.
• Liaising with Supervisors and Group Leader regarding new picks and complying to issued relevant work requests.
• Picking up new stickers for pick; ensuring required parts are put away as per required processes; receiving of parts is done in accordance with required processes.
• Ensure that the picked parts and accessories reach the pack floor before cut-off accurately and within cycle time.
• Ensuring that Housekeeping (5S) and LOPA rules are observed and always adhered.
• Reporting broken and dysfunctional scanners, tools and equipment or any other aspects that hamper productivity.
• Ensuring that high accuracy levels as per warehouse guidelines are always observed.
• Ensuring that all training required is attended and relevant credits are obtained.
• Participating in ideas management and relevant warehouse improvement processes.
• Ensuring that all targets per cycle are met and exceeded.
• Able to complete assigned tasks accurately and according to the designed process every time.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have Matric/Grade 12

Experience:

• Have at least 1-year experience in a Distribution Warehouse
• Must have at least one valid MHE license via an accredited facilitator
• Ability to drive a reach truck, turret truck, stock picker, power pallet truck and a forklift
• Proficiency to communicate in English
• Must be able to work in a team
• Be prepared to work overtime & staggered start times when required
• Ability to work harmoniously with diverse range of people.
• Proficient with using tools required for this position.
• Physically agile
