A leading maritime company is seeking a 2nd Electrical Engineer to join their team on board a cruise ship. The role involves assisting in the operation and maintenance of electrical systems, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, have relevant experience, and possess the ability to lead others. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Electrical Engineer in the operation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems On Board Cruise Ship
- Troubleshoot and resolve any electrical issues that may arise during the voyage
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of all electrical equipment and systems
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures
- Train and supervise junior electrical engineers and crew members
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient operations and timely completion of tasks
- Participate in emergency drills and be prepared to respond to any emergency situations
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in electrical engineering
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a 2nd Electrical Engineer
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems and equipment
- Familiarity with international regulations and standards for marine electrical systems
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Valid STCW certification and other required maritime certifications
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
