Qualifications

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus for all meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner

- Follow recipes and ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standards

- Prepare and cook meals for guests with special dietary requirements or restrictions On Board Cruise Ship

- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and labeling of food items

- Assist with inventory management and ordering of kitchen supplies

- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards to ensure the health and safety of guests and crew members

- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, including 3rd Cooks and Galley Attendants

- Collaborate with other departments, such as Housekeeping and Food and Beverage, to ensure a smooth and efficient operation

- Participate in onboard events and activities, such as cooking demonstrations and themed dinners, as required

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 2 years experience as a 2nd Cook in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a hotel or cruise ship setting

- Culinary degree or equivalent training from a recognized institution

- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment

- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

- Fluent in English, both written and verbal

- Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination and obtain necessary visas and travel documents
