Your Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage a comprehensive swim program, including group and individual lessons for adults and children.
- Develop and enhance the swim program, including holiday activities.
- Promote the swim offering through marketing activities.
- Handle administrative duties such as revenue and budget management, with regular reporting.
- Manage swim instructors and oversee their performance.
People Management
- Recruit and select team members aligned with VASA values.
- Ensure staff meet training and compliance standards.
- Maintain safety and health standards among staff.
- Provide leadership, conduct performance reviews, and communicate effectively with the team.
- Ensure staff adhere to brand standards and are well-presented.
- Ensure staff are water-safe and provide necessary swim lessons to them.
Members
- Create and implement engaging lesson programs, ensuring approval before publishing.
- Ensure all lessons are conducted as scheduled and meet quality standards.
- Monitor attendance and adjust programs to meet member needs.
- Address member and instructor concerns promptly.
- Maintain a fun, lively atmosphere and participate in club activities.
- Stay informed about club facilities and activities to serve as a link between members and departments.
- Drive member satisfaction and retention efforts.
- Ensure pool safety and equipment maintenance.
Swim Department
- Manage and develop the department to meet and exceed targets.
- Oversee budget, staffing, and financial targets.
- Ensure proper payroll and maximize sales opportunities.
Ongoing Training and Job Requirements
- Complete annual training and refresher courses in First Aid/AED.
- Maintain a clear criminal record through police clearance checks.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric Qualification
- Recognized Swim Qualification (e.g., Swim SA)
- First aid level 1 and AED Qualification
- Police Clearance Certificate
- Pro-active HOD training
- 1-2 years in a similar management role
- 2-3 years as a swim instructor or coach
- Experience in customer-focused environments
- Administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Financial acumen
