1475 Technician

Responsibilities :

1. Maintain safe conditions - ensure all safety guidelines are always followed strictly and maintain a clean and orderly environment in the laboratory.
2. Receive, samples and analyze (physically and chemically) raw material, trial samples and other internal samples and write a report where required.
3. Prepare samples for external tests.
4. Ensure all measuring equipment is within calibration period before use.
5. Ensure non-conforming product is segregated and its quality status clearly identified with reasons for non-conformity.
6. Raise NCR for non-conforming products and raw material.
7. Ensure all documents and records used are current and controlled.
8. Graphically present quality results on a weekly basis for Aerolite for LOI, micronaire, density, immediate recovery, and diameter.

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate must have a ND : Chemistry or Chemical Engineering qualification and 2 years of relevant experience within the lab environment. Computer literacy and WCM experience for internal applicants are required.

This role calls for a person who has good communication and analytical skills.

Purpose :

The purpose of the role is to optimize lab procedures and produce reliable results that can be used for Process and Quality improvement.
