Job summary

MD Inc invites applications for a locum Emergency Medicine practitioner to render high-quality care at our affiliated emergency unit in Cape Town. You will honor shifts, manage admitted patients on day duty, and participate in on-call rosters as required.

The role requires HPCSA registration, ATLS/ACLS/PLS courses, DipPEC, and up-to-date Advanced Life Support training. Remuneration is provided for minimum 120 hours per month with weekend work.

Qualifications

• Registered with the HPCSA as an independent medical Practitioner.
• Emergency Medicine related course such as ATLS, ACLS, APLS/PALS.
• Malpractice Insurance which covers Accident and Emergency in Private Practice. MPS Preferably.
• DipPEC qualification coupled with 3 up-to-date Advanced Life Support Courses (advantageous)

Responsibilities

Job description

• To attend all the CME activities arranged by MD Inc for its employees and to remain current in the official advanced life support courses and topics relating to emergency medicine.

REQUIREMENTS

• Cover Duration: 01 December 2026 – 28 February 2027
• Registered with the HPCSA as an independent medical Practitioner
• Must have Emergency Medicine related course such as ATLS, ACLS, APLS/PALS
• Malpractice Insurance which covers Accident and Emergency in Private Practice. MPS Preferably.
• DipPEC qualification coupled with 3 up-to-date Advanced Life Support Courses (advantageous)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

• To work at least a minimum of 120hrs a month, which will comprise of at least 2 weekends
• Locum rates for hours worked in excess of contractual hours
