Business Development Manager: Canon - (JHB)

Are you a self-motivated Business Development Manager looking to grow as a customer service-oriented professional?

Tarsus Distribution is looking for a Business Development Manager for the Canon range of products, responsible for using their acquired knowledge of market dynamics and client insights to build sales strategies for the growth of the brand.

Your passion for technology and account management will enable you to focus on collaboration, sales enablement of partners, and the management of a wide client portfolio.

By being customer-centric in all you do, you will drive business growth while improving the quality of engagement with clients to deliver a consistent, cross-channel experience.

Your market insights will give you a thorough understanding of clients and allow you to create thought-provoking business propositions and service offerings for them.

The ability to manage multiple deadlines across sales, marketing, and technical functions is of utmost importance.

Requirements:
  1. Educational Grade 12 or equivalent. Tertiary qualification preferred; a BComm degree would be advantageous.
  2. Experience: 3+ years in Product / Account management. Good track record in achieving revenue and gross profit targets.
  3. Skills: Good understanding of the ICT industry and the ability to keep up with Technology and Industry Developments. Brand-specific knowledge of products and processes. Technology certified – carry all vendor certifications. Understanding of the Distributor / Partner landscape. Proficient in MS Office suite, specifically advanced skills in Excel.
  4. Personal Attributes: Natural ability to build strong relationships with clients and vendors, making them feel valued and supported. Possess a strategic mindset, constantly seeking opportunities to expand the business and reach new markets. Proactive, taking initiative to address challenges and identify solutions to improve business outcomes. Adaptable, easily adjusting to changing market conditions and client needs. Excel in communication, clearly conveying information and fostering collaboration among teams.
Responsibilities:
  1. Business Development Strategy: Build and implement sales strategies to drive brand growth for the Canon product range, leveraging market knowledge and client insights. Develop a customer-centric approach to improve client engagement and ensure consistent, high-quality experience across all channels. Maintain and manage a diverse portfolio of clients, fostering strong, long-lasting relationships. Utilise insights to understand client needs deeply, creating compelling business propositions and service offerings to enhance value. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enable sales through strategic support and guidance. Focus on technology and account management to strengthen partnerships, ensuring partners are fully equipped to promote and sell Canon products effectively.
  2. Project Management: Manage multiple deadlines across various functions, including sales, marketing, and technical support, ensuring timely and successful project delivery. Prioritise tasks efficiently to maintain productivity and meet all deliverables.
  3. Customer Service Orientation: Adopt a customer-focused approach in all interactions, striving to deliver excellent service and foster client satisfaction and loyalty. Act as a trusted advisor, continuously working to enhance the quality of client engagements and support business growth.
