Job description

Responsible for supporting our Washrooms / Pest and Ambius businesses. Reports to the Finance Business Partner.

KEY WORK OUTPUTS & ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Financial reporting

Delivery of accurate and timely management information :

  • Daily and weekly reporting of operational and sales information.
  • Monthly reporting of key accounting, sales and operational performance along with regular performance reviews with operational management.
  • Ad-hoc analysis and reporting as requested by senior management.
  • Provide commentary and investigate changes in management information to add value to reports and aid understanding of changing business performance.
  • Respond to queries with data accuracy and follow up with investigations of data sources where required.
  • Adapt management information as required to meet business needs.
  • Provide Budgeting, Forecasting and Planning support to the Finance Director and the management accountant.
  • Assist and support Management Accountants to ensure the accuracy of accounting information.
  • Support the Finance Team in delivering key business initiatives and projects.
  • Assist in commission calculations.

Analysis

  • Maintain good relations with the operations director, Sales Director, Area Commercial Financial Controller, and branch managers.
  • Support their understanding of key financial processes and measures, and their role in providing timely, quality information.
  • Challenge and develop their understanding of commercial performance measures and suggest improvements.
  • Support their reporting and data needs for business management.
  • Understand challenges, customer, and business performance issues specific to areas.
  • Explain and communicate Budget targets to branch managers, and collect feedback on key issues.

Price and Margin Analysis

  • Assist the business in understanding pricing and margins, and advise on maximizing potential.
  • Report Margin Analysis accurately for month-end reporting.
  • Help prepare management presentations explaining month-end performance related to pricing and margins, and attend monthly business reviews.
  • Conduct discount analysis and margin reporting for commission schemes.
  • Maintain business models for profitability.
  • Update Price List for all businesses.

REQUIREMENTS

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Drive and motivation.
  • Knowledge of databases such as Qlik, Big Query, Data Studio is beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Matric certificate.
  • Finance Degree is advantageous.
  • Valid code 8 / 10 driver’s license (unendorsed).
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Junior Business Analyst or similar role.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Google Suite.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment.
