Thekwini TVET College invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the following contract post based in Durban.

DIESEL/MOTOR MECHANICS LECTURER (PL1) X1

LEVELS: REPORT 191 N4 – N6

CAMPUS: SPRINGFIELD

REF. NO. SPR 01/04/2025

SALARY: R256 395.00 PA, plus 37% cash in lieu of benefits.

Contract Duration: 2025 Academic Year

Requirements:

• Matric or equivalent
• Recognized and relevant (REQV 13) tertiary qualification in Diesel/Motor Mechanics with a Trade Test or CNC
• Advanced Teaching Diploma in TVET / Post Graduate Diploma TVET / Diploma in Secondary or Higher Education
• Valid SACE registration
• Teaching experience will be an added advantage
• Sound subject knowledge and work-related applications
• Be able to teach Motor/Diesel Mechanics subjects from N4 – N6
• Computer literacy (Ms Office)
• Customer care; leadership skills; assertiveness; good record keeping and administrative skills; be a team player, have passion for learning and teaching; as well as good communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Result Areas:

• Prepare lesson plan and engage in teaching and learning to meet the outcomes of the curriculum
• To conduct assessment and do moderations
• Record student attendance, capture assessment marks
• To oversee the educational and general welfare of the learners by counselling and discipline them
• To keep informed of all developments in this field of experience
