A leading healthcare provider located in San Diego is seeking a part-time Telemetry Monitor to oversee patients' cardiac and oxygen saturation levels via telemetry equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting rhythms, notifying RNs of changes, and maintaining telemetry systems. Candidates must complete an EKG examination during the interview and have preferred experience in cardiac monitoring. This position includes night shifts.

Formación

  • Completion of Scripps Health EKG Examination required.
  • 6 months of Cardiac Monitoring experience preferred.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Certification or EKG certification is a plus.

This is a benefited, part time position (48 hours every 2 weeks) working 12-hour night shifts on varied nights. Hours are generally 1830-0700. Rotating holidays and weekends required. Located at Scripps Centralized Services on Rehco Road. If you are selected to move forward in the process and interview for this position, be prepared to take a proctored telemetry test during the interview.

What you\'ll do:
  • Responsibility for monitoring patients on cardiac and/or SPO2 (continuous oxygen saturation) via telemetry equipment.
  • Monitoring patients when transporting to and from procedures/units.
  • Interpreting cardiac rhythms/SPO2 and reports changes to the RN.
  • Ability to prioritize notification to the RN based on emergent patient care needs.
  • Identifying and maintaining integrity of the telemetry system and reports all malfunctions and needed adjustments.
  • Responsibility for printing telemetry strips and documenting per unit standards.
  • Responsibility for placing patient on cardiac/SPO2 monitor, change batteries, and set up leads.
  • Performing clerical and other duties as requested per unit standard.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must successfully complete the Scripps Health EKG Examination during interview process
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of formal telemetry training which may include a class or online course OR electrocardiogram (EKG) OR Arrhythmia Certification course OR completion of a Paramedic, Cardio-Vascular, EMT, MD, or RN Program, OR other cardiac related programs
  • 6 months of Cardiac Monitoring experience preferred
  • Basic Arrhythmia Certification
  • EKG certification
  • EMT experience
