Formación

  • Must successfully complete the Scripps Health EKG Examination during interview process.
  • Completion of a Paramedic or RN Program or other cardiac related programs preferred.
  • 6 months of Cardiac Monitoring experience preferred.

Overview

This is a benefited, full time position working 12-hour day shifts on varied days. Hours are generally 0630-1900. Rotating holidays and weekends are required. Located at Scripps Centralized Services on Rehco Road. If you are selected to move forward in the process and interview for this position, be prepared to take a proctored telemetry test during the interview.

What you'll do
  • Monitoring patients on cardiac and/or SPO2 (continuous oxygen saturation) via telemetry equipment.
  • Monitoring patients when transporting to and from procedures/units.
  • Interpreting cardiac rhythms/SPO2 and reporting changes to the RN.
  • Prioritizing notification to the RN based on emergent patient care needs.
  • Identifying and maintaining integrity of the telemetry system and reporting all malfunctions and needed adjustments.
  • Printing telemetry strips and documenting per unit standards.
  • Placing patient on cardiac/SPO2 monitor, changing batteries, and setting up leads.
  • Performing clerical and other duties as requested per unit standard.

Required Qualifications
  • Must successfully complete the Scripps Health EKG Examination during interview process
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of formal telemetry training which may include a class or online course OR electrocardiogram (EKG) OR Arrhythmia Certification course OR completion of a Paramedic, Cardio-Vascular, EMT, MD, or RN Program, OR other cardiac related programs
  • 6 months of Cardiac Monitoring experience preferred
  • Basic Arrhythmia Certification
  • EKG certification
  • EMT experience
