Job summary

ICEYE is seeking a Software Engineer, Simulation and Modeling in Valencia to help build a simulation framework for satellites, emitters, signals, truth and scoring. The tool will support what-if analyses for capacity and performance so engineers and customers can answer critical questions.

You’ll work daily with the Experimentation Lab, lab, signal processing and ground segment teams to develop end-to-end capabilities that can run with synthetic and real data.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering in Python with clean architecture and testing practices.
• Experience building simulation/modeling for physical systems and validating against data.
• Numerical computing with NumPy/SciPy, vectorisation, performance awareness.

Responsibilities

• Model the constellation: orbit propagation, geometry, attitude and pointing, antenna beams, access windows.
• Model emitters and the theatre: state machines with real patterns and duty cycles; extend lab captures synthetically.
• Generate signals: propagation, link modelling, synthetic I/Q per satellite for RF hardware compatibility.
• Maintain truth ledger: logged emissions, positions, times, and scoring for detection metrics.
