Job summary

Kiwa PPI is seeking an experienced Piping & Mechanical QA Inspector to support a restoration project in Venezuela. The role involves verifying installation, inspection, testing, and handover of piping and mechanical systems, ensuring safety, compliance, and alignment with the project schedule.

The candidate should have deep expertise in piping installation, welding, NDE, and MC management, with strong QA/QC practices, and the ability to coordinate with EPC teams in a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• 15 years of piping and mechanical construction experience on major Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, Refining, or Process projects.
• Extensive site construction experience with Owner, EPCM, or EPC contractors.
• Deep knowledge of piping installation, welding, NDE, pressure testing, repair, and mechanical equipment erection.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and equipment drawings.
• Strong QA/QC understanding, ITPs, construction documentation, and handover processes.
• Experience in Mechanical Completion management and system handovers.
• Proven contractor coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a brownfield/restoration setting.

Responsibilities

• Verify daily piping and mechanical installation/construction activities with EPC contractors and subcontractors.
• Supervise the installation of piping, equipment, valves, supports, and related systems.
• Review P&IDs, isometrics, layouts, equipment drawings, specs, test plans, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Construction to resolve field issues.
• Ensure installations are complete and ready for inspection and testing.
• Verify defect detection, pressure testing, cleaning, flushing, repairs, and equipment completion.
• Identify and manage technical queries, RFIs, design changes, and site issues.
• Participate in field inspections and punch list generation/closure.
• Support systematization, mechanical completion, and handover to commissioning.
• Ensure work complies with HSE and project procedures.
