The Print and Media Production Manager is responsible for a large 24x5 digital print-on-demand production facility of 20-25 employees (25-50 peak season). Responsible for all associated activities in an on-demand environment including, but not limited to: staffing, talent development, forecasting procurement, and plant capacities, meeting customer timelines, vendor relations, and process improvement. The Media Factory manager will also interact with internal customers to ensure critical deadlines are met and utilize skills to further develop and maintain internal procedures. Additionally, working closely with upper management on research, development, and implementation of new processes and equipment will be required.
YOUR TASKS
- Maintain adequate staffing levels. Identify seasonal trends in volume and turnover
- Complete supervisor performance appraisals and wage reviews. Assist with associate appraisal and wage reviews
- Work with associates to identify and develop training, as well as develop department structure to meet customer’s needs
- Assist Director with department hiring decisions
- Resolution of issues within or between departments
- Be able to coach, mentor, and train employees, helping in their development. Participate in departmental training in an effort to improve efficiency. Consistently challenge the status quo and push others to improve via critical/constructive feedback
- Must have the ability to lead, drive and inspire change. Drive change by initiating and leading projects to improve current processes within the department as well as those that impact the entire organization
- Assist Director with special projects as needed and provide leadership within the team on a daily basis and in the absence of the Director to include creating a team environment to effectively manage deadlines, workload, and morale
- Responsible for 24 hour print and binding production operations. Must coordinate staffing and schedule in order to meet all customer requirements
YOUR PROFILE
- Associate degree or 5+ years in a management role, 3+ years high volume digital print & mail fulfillment manufacturing experience preferred
- Successful track record of developing and promoting talent into functional positions and leadership roles
- Strong Technical and mechanical troubleshooting skills across various production equipment are a must
- Proficiency in MS Office with emphasis on MS Excel
- Experience effectively managing labor and material costs at the department P&L cost center level
- Strong analytical skills along with excellent problem identification and resolution skills required
- Adept with forecasting and scheduling daily, weekly, and monthly production volumes
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to utilize productivity standards to determine and prioritize workload and headcount across work centers and shifts a must
- Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively to get results
- High attention to detail
