Job summary

Danish Refugee Council is seeking a MEAL Coordinator in Caracas to lead country-level MEAL advisory support, strengthen systems and ensure accountable programming across emergencies and recovery. The role works with MEAL leadership, programme teams, and partners to implement improvements and ensure data-driven decision-making.

The successful candidate will mentor staff, coordinate across offices, and reinforce MEAL capacity while aligning with donor requirements and the Global MEAL Model.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of MEAL experience in humanitarian or development programmes.
• Experience strengthening MEAL departments or systems through collaborative assessment and improvement planning.
• Proven mentoring, coaching and facilitation skills for national staff.
• Strong knowledge of theories of change, logframes, indicators, sampling, data quality assurance and evaluations.
• Experience with accountability mechanisms, CHS and data protection in humanitarian settings.
• Advanced Excel skills and digital data collection tools (KoboToolbox/ODK); Power BI or statistical analysis software is an asset.
• Experience meeting donor MEAL requirements and supporting local partners.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills with practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide country-level MEAL advisory support and strengthen systems across offices.
• Develop a prioritised MEAL improvement plan and mentor staff.
• Support integration of MEAL throughout project cycle management and budget planning.
• Strengthen data protection, secure storage and use of digital tools.
• Lead capacity building for MEAL leadership and field teams.
• Coordinate with partners to harmonise MEAL tools and approaches.
