Residential Handyperson

Summary

We are looking for a professional Handyperson with residential building maintenance skills to assist with the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all building systems and equipment. This position will coordinate and complete all requested work, assign priorities, and follow up on completion.

Essential functions/Responsibilities

1. Performs routine maintenance work and makes repairs to properties as needed, including light plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, light electrical
2. Works closely with Property Manager/Superintendent who will help coordinate tasks
3. Coordinates with tenants to set times to access apartments to make repairs
4. Efficiently manages incoming service requests
5. Repairs walkways and exteriors
6. Tracks time and logs activities and the work completed for each job
7. Completes renovation projects as needed
8. Performs high-quality work with attention to detail
9. Participates in on-call rotations with the Superintendent to respond to tenant requests and issues, with compensation provided for travel to the property

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years' experience with a successful track record as maintenance tech/handyperson
• Experience and knowledge in construction and maintenance
• Able to handle a wide variety of repairs (painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills for interacting with tenants and staff
• Proficiency with email, text messages, and business apps
• Reliable vehicle for travel to property locations (where applicable)
• Ownership of necessary tools for general handyperson tasks is a plus

Pay Range: $19.00 - $21.00
