Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Redwood Empire is seeking a Material Handler 1 (Full-Time) at the Santa Rosa location. You will work in a busy warehouse environment, handling donations, processing consignments, and providing excellent customer service to donors and visitors.

The role includes operating basic material handling equipment and adhering to safety policies. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and paid time off as part of a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Customer service aptitude and ability to engage with donors and customers.
• Clear and effective verbal communication with staff and the public.
• Legible handwriting for receipts and records.
• Knowledge of safety rules and attentive to safety practices.
• Team-oriented with ability to work independently when needed.
• Willingness to pursue forklift certification and enhance material handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary Customer Service to GIRE donors, customers, clients and staff.
• Accept and sort donations into appropriate bins.
• Maintain daily donor counts.
• Administer receipts to GIRE donors.
• Adhere to safety policies and attend monthly Safety Meeting.
• Notify supervisor when supplies are needed or equipment requires service/repair.
• Daily call-ins to the CDC Manager or CDC MH 2 at CDC sites.
• Keep CDC assigned cell phone charged and on during business hours.
• Complete required daily inspection logs.
• Assist with loading and unloading GIRE trucks.
• Remove trash as needed.
• Support GIRE Outlet Center by filling and rotating tables with donations and recycling into Salvage streams.
• Operate heavy machinery such as Tipper, Compactor and Baler.
• Process eWaste and Hazardous materials appropriately.
• Potential for obtaining the GIRE White Vest - beginner forklift certification for qualifying individuals.
