Applaudo is seeking an experienced Android Developer to deliver scalable native Android apps. You will build from scratch, define API needs, and prototype new technologies while partnering with product, design, and engineering teams.

We look for strong Kotlin/Java skills, Jetpack Compose experience, and a solid grasp of MVVM and Clean Architecture. Collaboration with US stakeholders and a focus on clean, maintainable code are essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years building native Android apps.
• Proficient in Kotlin and Java with OO design on Android.
• Strong understanding of Android ecosystems, architectures and new tech.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android patterns.
• Knowledge of Clean Architecture and MVVM.
• Experience integrating with REST, SOAP or GraphQL web services.
• Proficient with XML/JSON data formats.
• Git or similar version control experience required.
• Excellent communication and advanced English; able to work with US stakeholders.

You are an experienced Android Developer who enjoys building reliable, scalable, and intuitive native mobile experiences. You care about how applications are structured behind the scenes just as much as how they perform for the end user, bringing a strong focus on clean architecture, maintainable code, and modern Android development practices.

You stay curious about the evolution of the Android ecosystem and are comfortable evaluating new technologies and approaches when they can improve the product or development process. You collaborate effectively with Product, Design, and Engineering teams, contribute to technical decisions, and take ownership of delivering high-quality solutions from concept through implementation.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing native Android applications.
• Strong experience with Kotlin and Java, Object-Oriented Design, and the Android platform.
• Solid understanding of the Android ecosystem, including architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
• Experience with Android Jetpack Compose.
• Experience applying Clean Architecture and MVVM patterns.
• Good understanding of client/server architectures and web services, including REST, SOAP, and GraphQL.
• Solid understanding of XML and JSON.
• Experience using Git or similar version control systems.
• Strong communication skills and advanced English proficiency, with the ability to collaborate directly with US-based stakeholders.

You Will Be Accountable For The Following Responsibilities

• Build native Android applications from scratch following best practices and coding standards.
• Define API requirements, consume RESTful web services, and process results efficiently.
• Create prototypes to demonstrate the value and functionality of new and emerging Android technologies.
• Participate in Agile development processes to meet requirements and deliver features end to end.
• Collaborate closely with Developers, Designers, and Product Managers to solve technical and product challenges.
• Follow UI/UX guidelines and best practices defined by the Design team to ensure high-quality user experiences.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin and Java.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android development practices.
• Strong knowledge of MVVM, Clean Architecture, and Object-Oriented Design.
• Experience integrating Android applications with web services and APIs.
• Advanced English proficiency.
