Position Summary

The Group Fitness Instructor provides engaging and educational group fitness classes that promote fitness and positive self-esteem in a safe environment. They serve as a fitness resource for participants and foster positive relationships with members to encourage ongoing attendance. The instructor is responsible for meeting class attendance goals and promoting Life Time's programs, products, and services.

As a Group Fitness Instructor at Life Time, you can instruct various formats, including:

  • Strength: LIFT, SHRED, MAXOUT
  • Cardio: XTREME, REMIXX
  • Boxing/Kickboxing: STRIKE
  • Barre: LIFE BARRE
  • Cycle: AMP, EDG, PWR
  • DANZE: Dance classes like Hip Hop, Latin Fusion, and musical theater
  • Yoga: SURRENDER YIN, ROOT HATHA, FLOW VINYASA
  • Older Adults: ARORA classes
  • Other: SGT, GTX, ULTRA FIT, ALPHA
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Develop positive relationships with class participants by teaching challenging and entertaining classes.
  2. Educate participants on proper form and modifications.
  3. Engage with members before and after classes, answering questions and fostering community.
  4. Maintain studio cleanliness and organization post-class.
  5. Provide motivating current music, ensuring appropriate language.
  6. Promote Life Time programs, products, and services, encouraging participation.
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of fitness instruction experience
  • CPR/AED Certification
  • Group Exercise Certification from NASM, ACE, AFAA, or AEA
  • Ability to perform aerobic activities for the duration of a class, including standing, walking, climbing, balancing, running, crawling, and kneeling
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds routinely and 100 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to perform exercises specific to the class
