Job summary

Pikes Peak State College is seeking an Animal Care Coordinator to oversee the zoology collection and animal program labs, supporting the ZOO and VET programs and coordinating outreach activities. The role involves hands-on care of reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, fish, and mammals, while ensuring proper facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Make decisions regarding acquisition and management of Animal Program specimens.
• Develop partnerships with organizations for trainings, events, and workshops.
• Coordinate acquisition and transfer of animals with Animal Programs staff and SEM Division management.
• Integrate animal collection into course outcomes (environmental science, conservation, art).
• Conduct animal collection tours for college and K-12 classes and community education.
