Job summary

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for the day shift. The role supports safeguarding guests, staff, animals and zoo assets by monitoring systems, handling service calls, conducting patrols, and assisting with special events.

You will perform foot, bike, and mobile patrols, secure the premises through lock-ups and escorts, and maintain accurate security records. The position is non-exempt, part-time and reports to the Vice President of Security and Safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Strong communication and exceptional customer service skills.
• Able to work weekends, holidays and special events.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Drug-free workplace policy adherence.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems and respond to service calls.
• Conduct foot, mobile, and bike patrols to assist guests and staff.
• Secure the zoo through lock-ups and escorts and medical runs; maintain records.
• Assist with special events and report to Security leadership.
