Job summary

The Nashville Zoo is seeking a dedicated Gardener to join our Horticulture team. This full-time role focuses on maintaining healthy greenscapes, planting new specimens, monitoring irrigation, and keeping garden spaces safe and beautiful for guests and animals alike.

You will operate landscaping equipment, follow safety protocols, and collaborate with colleagues across departments to support conservation and visitor experiences. A high school diploma and valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Background in landscaping or grounds maintenance preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Prune and weed landscaped areas.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Maintain professional conduct at all times and model the organization’s values.
• Monitor irrigation systems and ensure they are working properly.
• Hand water plantings not established.
• Install plants when necessary.
• Assist other departments as requested.
• Complete assigned tasks in an orderly, efficient manner.
• Continue horticulture knowledge during tenure at the Zoo.
