Job summary

City of Santa Ana is seeking an educator to plan, develop, and present programs at the Santa Ana Zoo and Santiago Nature Center. You will craft curricula and materials, deliver engaging presentations, and support outreach at events and community programs.

Two years of relevant experience and a high school diploma are required; bilingual abilities and biology coursework are a plus. This full-time role is based in Santa Ana, CA with occasional events outside standard hours.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of professional experience in the development and presentation of educational and informational programs, preferably related to zoo or nature center programs; including one (1) year of experience handling, caring for, and displaying live animals.
• High school diploma or GED required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the planning, development, coordination, implementation, and presentation of educational programs to inform the public about the Santa Ana Zoo and its animal exhibits, and Santiago Nature Center.
• Develops curricula, lesson plans, and classroom materials for child and adult programs.
• Prepares and delivers presentations at the Santa Ana Zoo, Santiago Nature Center, and events.
