Job summary

Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II (Full Time) to perform general repairs, painting and build basic structures for staff, guests and animals in our facilities.

Under general supervision, this role maintains buildings and exhibits, assists with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding and HVAC, and participates in preventive maintenance and winter snow removal as needed. A valid driver's license and ability to lift 75 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 3 years general maintenance or carpentry experience desired.
• Knowledge of and experience using power tools and maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance on Zoo & Aquarium buildings, animal exhibits and guest areas.
• Assist with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding and HVAC tasks as needed.
• Assist in preventive maintenance programs and snow removal during winter.
