Job summary

City of Riverside is seeking a mid-level Zoning Administrator in the Community Development Department to interpret, explain, and enforce zoning codes and ensure compliance with local ordinances.

Under the Director, you will collaborate with Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and the public; prepare reports, maps, and presentations; and manage floodplain regulations and CRA housing liaison duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in urban planning, Public Administration, or related field, with 2+ years experience.
• AICP license or ability to obtain it within a reasonable time.
• Strong understanding of zoning principles and applications.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; GIS knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide zoning administrative support to the public by answering questions and processing requests.
• Oversee, interpret, and enforce the zoning code and permitting process.
• Prepare reports, maps, and visual aids to support plans and projects.
• Conduct field investigations for zoning, development, and nuisance cases.
• Serve as Housing Officer for the CRA program and liaison to the CRA Housing Council.
