Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Zone Mechanic to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across all systems in a hospital setting. You will specialize in one craft area (electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, or central utility plant) and support others as needed.

The role requires a Journeyman/Apprentice certification or active pursuit of one, a valid driver's license, and a readiness to work overtime for emergencies in a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must have good problem solving skills, ability to prioritize work, and be able to work independently.
• Knowledge of commercial building automation systems (BAS) preferred.
• Knowledge of standard practices and procedures of construction trades such as plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, painting and mechanical systems.
• Must have general computer knowledge; preferably with Microsoft Windows.
• Read and comprehend plans and blueprints preferred.
• Hospitals operate 24/7, must be willing to work overtime and off-hours for emergency situations.
• Ability to operate and use a broad spectrum of tools and equipment skillfully and safely.

• Assist and serve as back-up to other Facilities employees.
