Job summary

UF Health is seeking aMaintenance Technician to inspect, service and repair occupied areas of the physical plant within the maintenance department. Responsibilities include addressing equipment and systems listed in Attachment A to ensure safe, reliable operations in a healthcare setting.

The ideal candidate will hold a journeyman’s license or substantial related trade experience, with high school completion and potential technical education substitutions accepted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeyman license in trades or 4–6 years related trade experience.
• Technical education may substitute for up to two years experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service and repair all occupied portions of the physical plant under the maintenance department.
• Address equipment and systems listed in Attachment A as part of routine upkeep.

Overview

Inspection, service and repair of all occupied portions of the physical plant serviced by the maintenance department including, but not limited to, the equipment and systems listed in Attachment A.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school education or equivalent.
• A journeyman's license in one or more of the trades that includes a minimum of four to six years of commercial related trade work experience, or six to eight years of commercial trade work experience without a journeyman's license, with a preference of three or more years of that experience in a healthcare environment.
• Technical education training may substitute for up to two years' work-related experience.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:

• Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'non-frequent driver' NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job. Please indicate the appropriate operator designation on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form at the time a RFP is submitted to post the position.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• A valid state of Florida driver's license.
