Role Summary
With a primary focus on guest obsession, the Resort Operations Host (Resort Ops Host) plays a crucial role in making this the best place to work in the world. This position will be trained in a variety of skills to support guest service and zonal operations. Responsible for the timely and efficient completion of tasks in an assigned zone of operation, the Resort Ops Host will be guest facing, exhibiting our Merlin Values through positive customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Zonal Operation: Work in various zones across the resort to ensure smooth operations and excellent guest service while promoting company values.
- Ensure efficient guest flow and provide exceptional service at entrances, ticket scanning, and admission areas.
- Complete retail tasks including sales transactions, inventory management, stock control, loss prevention, and upselling.
- Assist with shows, educational classes, and building experiences, including venue preparation and guest engagement.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across the resort, including trash management and restroom upkeep.
- Perform ride hosting and operation, ensuring safety and service standards are met for all guests.
- As a Ride Host, perform greeting and organizational duties across various attractions.
- After training and clearance, oversee rides, coordinate staff, ensure smooth operations, and minimize queue times.
- Monitor water attractions for safety and guest enjoyment, maintaining certification as a Shallow Water Lifeguard.
- Perform opening and closing routines as per operating procedures.
- Liaise with the leadership team to resolve guest issues resort-wide.
- Adapt to various roles to enhance the guest experience across the resort.
Health & Safety
- Follow health and safety protocols, handle incidents, and suggest safety improvements.
- Work effectively in busy, noisy environments and under pressure, ensuring safety during ride breakdowns or upset guests.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Work in indoor, outdoor, and enclosed locations with varying temperatures and surfaces.
- Exposed to wet/humid conditions and possibly food allergens.
- Intermittent standing, walking, and sitting to interact with guests and move around the resort.
- Read written materials and communicate effectively both in person and via devices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in guest-facing roles, such as in a theme park or similar environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Basic math and computing skills preferred.
- Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
