Job summary

ZF Group in Lapeer, MI is seeking a Production Systems Expert to lead lean initiatives, coach teams, and drive continuous improvement across the plant through workshops and structured problem solving.

You will track KPIs, own roadmaps, and build cross-functional teams to sustain a culture of lean manufacturing and measurable plant results.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in technical field or equivalent and 5+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge & experience of ZF PS / Lean Manufacturing concepts and methods (TPS).
• Strong experience in developing and leading lean workshops and implementing continuous improvement projects.
• Strong manufacturing process and environment experience.
• Advanced skill set to analyze and solve problems, to present topics, to run projects and build cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead lean expert fostering know-how and knowledge transfer/best practice sharing to all plant functions.
• Coach people in standards and tools ensuring a strong deployment in the workshops to drive improved operational performance.
• Lead the establishment of priorities, on all levels, in the plant functions following the SFM concept to improve operational performance.
• Lead for promoting, implementing and supervising lean activities throughput the plant ensuring sustainability by leading workshops and the realization of improvements.
• Track the 6 vital six KPI’s (LTAR, OPV, ITR, PPP, OEE and FCP) and plan workshops, trainings, etc. to close performance gaps.
• Own the ZFPS and OMA roadmaps with the support of the cross-functional plant team.
• Lead ZFPS education, implementation and application across the plant team to build a culture based on ZFPS (Continuous Improvement) methods.

About the Team: The ZF Production Systems team in Lapeer partners closely with plant functions to strengthen lean manufacturing practices, drive continuous improvement, and improve operational performance. This collaborative team supports workshops, training, audits, and roadmap execution while building a sustainable culture focused on problem solving, knowledge sharing, and measurable plant results.
